Christmas present...

...stop press!! my lovely friend Linda has just emailed me to say her Siamese cat Florence has had FIVE Christmas kittens this afternoon - now that's what I call a Christmas present!

I live in England with my lovely husband and two furbabies. I love my home and making it into a peaceful, comfortable place to enjoy. Our house was built in the 1880s and was originally a cattle barn and dairy. It has given me the opportunity to create my dream home from scratch. I love rustic French style and pale, calm interiors. I've always loved making and changing things. When I was little I was always making dolls' clothes and creating dolls' houses out of cardboard boxes. I then graduated to making my own clothes and furnishings and having a real house! Over the years I have bought many lovely items from auctions and lovingly restored them for my home. People liked them so much (and I have no room for any more!) that I started creating things for others' homes and now have a retail outlet at Unit 88 Brackley Antique Cellar, an award winning antique, vintage and collectable venue in Northamptonshire. I love taking things other people think are worthless and turning them into beautiful useful objects. As William Morris said: "It helps the healthiness of both body and soul to live among beautiful things" 1882
